Community
I have learned so much about cooking and baking from family and friends, I love a good cookbook, but nothing compares to a conversation with a fellow cook or baker. Different people cook differently, and their results are frequently unique to them. My great grandmother never measured a thing and yet I would contend that she was one of the best cooks I have had the pleasure to learn from. My sister, Lesli, is one of those cooks who can open a refrigerator, push a few things around and come up with a meal fit for kings. As for me, I am a cook once from a written recipe and then riff on that for the rest of time.
It is my hope that here at “Brian’s Man Cave Kitchen” we can develop a community of like-minded cooks and bakers eager to both learn and teach. Share a recipe or technique, challenge one another to come up with a new way to make an otherwise difficult task easier for all of us. Maybe you have come across a device that makes it easier to know when a pot has come up to a bear simmer or that would allow you to frost and decorate a layer cake. Bring it on!
This is the only page on this web site where you, the reader, can submit a post, have it reviewed and share it with the rest of us. As time goes on, I may ask one or more of you to help this community keep going. For now, Let’s get started!
